BROOKLYN’S RESIDENT BALD EAGLES

A breeding pair of Bald Eagles were spotted building a nest on Ruffle Bar Island off the coast of Brooklyn, NY in January 2023. At least one of the eagles was regularly visiting Prospect Park in the months following. Here are my favorite captures of the eagle(s) visiting the park.

These bald eagles are believed to be the first pair to build a nest in Brooklyn in over a century. It was so exciting to visit the park during this time to see the eagles and be able to document this rare occurrence with the below photos. Hopefully they continue to nest in the New York City area in the years to come.
